Ye Olde Pub Painter

My name’s John and I paint pubs

Well, actually, I paint a lot of things, but here you will find all of my paintings of pubs and more. You’ll find a blog where I review beers and bars, pub crawl guides for those wanting to visit the best places to drink in an area, and much more. And if you want me to paint a picture of your favourite local pub, you can can contact me to talk about commissions. And on this homepage, you’ll find a selection of the most recent paintings I’ve been working on. So grab yourself a pint, take a comfy seat, and have a look around. Cheers.

Why Do I Paint Pubs?

I suppose it’s because they’re beautiful. They are the hearts of so many communities around the UK, and a home away from home for so many of us. They are a warm fireside on a wintery night, and a sun-drenched garden on a summer’s afternoon. From modern bars that offer a music venue to aspiring young local artists, to ancient historical pubs that do a great roast and a quiz night on Tuesdays, they become the soul of their street, their village and a part of the make up of so many towns and cities. And they are all architecturally interesting and unique. Put all of those things together and I don’t understand why you wouldn’t want to paint pubs.
